RIYADH—In his first press conference as the Chairman of General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al Sheikh announced Tuesday Jan. 22 the new era of entertainment in Saudi Arabia.
GEA’s newly unveiled plans aim to place Saudi Arabia among the top 10 international entertainment destinations.
Al Sheikh said that GEA negotiated long-term contracts with more than 100 local and international partners—to enrich the entertainment culture in the country.
Soccer matches featuring international football stars, racing and drifting challenges, concerts, theater shows and Islamic competitions are among the GEA’s planned events, he said.
In addition, restaurants and cafes now can apply for licenses to host live shows, comedy shows and singing performances.
The GEA’s ambitious entertainment programs will take Saudi Arabia one step closer to achieving its 2030 Vision.
As the main coverage provider, Alamiya assigned three fully-equipped broadcasting vehicles; one OB truck and two SNG HD vans.
The company also provided two cranes and two SteadyCams along with a camera-crew of 40 units to cover the GEA press conference from every angle and in the most professional way possible.
